My makeup essentials! «

When it comes to makeup you can call me a noob, especially when I can tell people about what I like. Because I decided to do a series for beginners I thought it would be a great idea to list some of my makeup essentials. Of course this is different from person to person but if you are new to makeup and you want to do some good shopping it’s always handy to have a little list and tips from others. I don’t use makeup every single day but when I do I wear basics. AND I never wear makeup without a reason, i see millions of girls applying tons of makeup just to fit in but it’s not needed! Okay; when I have dark circles or a pimple I will cover it with some concealer but applying layers of foundation on your face while it’s naturally beautiful is pointless. Especially when you’re really young it just ruins your skin!

Now I’m only going to talk about makeup, I will write a post about skin care, brushes, etc.. but that’s for later!

primer is the base of every makeup look, doesn’t matter of it’s an eye or faceprimer: YOU. NEED. IT. Like I said I’m not a fan of pointless use of makeup but when you use makeup you definitely should use a primer. How many times you see people with foundation all messed up around their wrinkles and eyeshadow looks all in the crease. There are a lot of different primers so it’s your choice which one you will take but think about it: the primer needs to keep your entire look in place!

concealer. I never wear foundation but a concealer now and then can do miracles. You can cover up dark circles, pimples, redness, … without needing an extra layer of foundation.

setting powder. When you want to be sure your makeup stays in place a setting powder is a great way to do that. You can take a translucent powder to just set the look or take a compact powder with pigment for a little extra coverage. The only thing you have to do is make sure the powder doesn’t look caked onto you face.

Blush. Doesn’t matter if you take a bright pink, dark red, plum or natural color, a blush is definitely and essential in your makeup kit! It can brighten up your face like never before and give a more natural look. Together with all the other stuff a listed before you can give a brighter look to your face in 3 minutes.

nude eyeshadow palette. On top of your good eye primer you have to create a nice look. If you don’t like a lot of makeup a nude palette can do a great job, but if you want to bright colors can do a great job too! A natural looking color on the lids and a brown color in the crease is a great way to do some fast makeup.

An eyeliner pen. Yes, you read that right. Why would you buy a pen instead of some fluid liner? Well, for the simple reason that using a pen works most of the time and with a fluid liner you have more accidents. Especially when you’re new to makeup a fluid liner doesn’t help at all, lately a lot of brands have an eyeliner pen so next time you go shopping just look for it. I’m sure you’ll find it!

A good mascara. As a finish to every eye look a mascara does a great job. I prefer using a non-waterproof mascara just because it’s better for you lashes. For a party, a day at the beach or a rainy day you can use a waterproof mascara but when it’s not needed you can perfectly skip that! There are a lot of different types of mascaras: to make your lashes appear bigger, longer, blacker, more sexy, etc.. so you have to find the mascara that is perfect for you!

Lipstick. Personally I’m not a big fan of lipgloss, it’s sticky and fades out in minutes. No, give me a good lipstick and I’m happy! To find the right lipstick for your skin tone you should go to a store like Sephora, Douglas or a MAC counter -because I still think MAC has the best lipsticks in the world! You don’t always have to wear lipstick but I think it can give a great touch to your face!

brow pencil and gel. Brows are very important, they can make you or break you. -Okay, that’s a but dramatic but you get where I’m going? When I see people with brows from their forehead to their chin I always think WHY. My brows aren’t perfect either but they’re clean!

white eyeliner pencil. Not only concealer but also a white eyeliner pencil can make you look more awake! Apply it on your lower water line and let your eyes pop out! Once you tried it you’ll never stop doing it. if you think the white color is too much a peach color can do a great job too!

And then, last but not least: nail polish. I’m not a big fan of nail polish but I have one color a wear a lot. It’s a good idea to have one nail polish that fits with every look and all your clothing. If you wear a lot of colors a nude or black color is a safe option! Par example: I mostly wear black with a pop of color, therefore I always wear a black nail polish with a pop of blue in it. -”Blue Monday” by Gosh mixed with a random black nail polish. (swatches are on their way!). But if you were a lot of bright colors it might be a good idea to buy some nude and peach nail polishes to start with. Later on you can start buying nail polish for every outfit you have.

These where may essentials for a perfect everyday look! As you can see this look makes you look very awake but still very real.
