How To Wear Bright Sexy Bold Eyeliner | New York Girl Style

It has become very clear that bright colors are the biggest trend for spring. This not only means bright, bold, and neon colors in your wardrobe and accessories, but also in makeup. The fall 2012 runways were chock full of models strutting down the runway with this chic, glowing eye makeup look. Makeup mastermind Francois Nars says that, “Vibrant jewel tones make the eyes appear brighter in a beautiful, modern way.” We have selected four particularly gorgeous colors to show you how to get this bold, but soon to be classic, makeup look.

Teal is a gorgeous color in itself and in terms of makeup shades, this eyeliner color will make your eyes pop. Stick with shades with more blue than green, the blue shade will bring out the irises of your eyes. You can make the color stand out even more by pairing teal eyeliner with pale eye shadow and lipstick. We like Nars’ Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Abbey Road.

Blue hues are probably one of the brightest colors you can go with for eyeliners. If a bright and blazing cobalt blue seems a bit daunting, try layering it over black or brown liner for a softer effect. We like NYX Extreme Shine Eyeliner in Sun-Rise Blue.

Green is a hue that is for those of you that will be risk-takers with this makeup trend. A smudged green line along the lashes is not only bright, but can be down-right ethereal if it’s left alone. For a more dramatic look, you can add a few coats of mascara, or pair it with a black or brown eyeliner for a more minimized look. We like Covergirl’s LiquiLineBlast Eyeliner Pencil in Green Glow.

Purple tones will be for those of you that want to try this trend, but don’t want that stand-out bright color of a blue or green. Purple is a universally flattering color. Of all the jewel tones, purple appears the least shocking. We like Nars Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Bourbon Street.

How to Apply Eyeliner | All Malta Online Offers Blog

 The Different Types of Liner

You can use an eyeliner pencil, a liquid liner or an eyeliner brush dipped into a deep shadow to line eyes. If you use a pencil, set the line with eyeshadow because penciled lines tend to melt and won’t stay put all day.

How to Apply Liquid Eyeliner

Too apply liquid eyeliner, line the eye from the inside of the lashes outward in one big sweep. You can also line the eye from the middle of the lash line outward, then finish the line from the inner corner of the eye to the middle. Another liquid eyeliner trick requires a steady hand and will make eyes appear wider. Start with a completely bare eye. On the upper lashes, dot the liquid liner into the spaces between the lashes, wiggling the liner into the lashes. The result is not supposed to be a line. It’s supposed to look as if the lashes themselves are super thick at the root. Apply mascara. Compare eye to other naked eye.

The Basic “I’m Off to Work or the Weekend” Eye

This is the perfect work or weekend look for women who want their eyes to “pop” without giving off the appearance of a woman who’s really, really into makeup, so into makeup she has this site bookmarked in her Web favorites. The key to the basic eye is to apply with a light hand. The basic eye is all about appearing natural so consider a deep brown (versus black) eyeliner if you have light hair.

The Smoky Eye

Ahhh, the smoky eye. Perhaps there is no longer-running eye makeup trend than the smoky eye, which is in no danger of going out of style. The key here is to blend well. Also, make sure to keep all other makeup light or you risk looking overdone. You don’t want the rest of your makeup to compete with your eyes. Holding the skin of your upper lid taut, apply eyeliner from the inside corner of the eye outward. Draw strokes into the lash line. The middle of the line should be a bit thicker than the edges. Use a cotton swap (or your finger, if you’re lazy like me) to “smudge” the liner. Dab an eyeshadow brush into a deep-hued eyeshadow and apply over the eyeliner to set the line (blow on the brush first to remove any excess shadow). Layering liner with a shadow is the secret to a perfect smokey eye. Blend shadow well, then follow with eyeshadow. According to the March 2006 issue of InStyle Magazine, with a smoky eye, “color should diffuse from rich and dark near the lashes to almost sheer as it extends to the crease.”

 The Bold, Dramatic Eye

Bold eyes are a dramatic choice for evening. Try eyeliner shades other than deep black for a super cool look. You can use either a liquid liner or try the makeup artist’s trick and use an angled eyeshadow brush dipped in a deep-hued eyeshadow. Skip the pencil for this look. Holding the skin of your upper lid taut, apply the liquid liner from the middle of the eye to the outside corner of the eye. Draw a second line from the inside corner of your eye, letting the two lines meet. The outer edge of the line should be thicker than the inside. If you have close-set eyes, avoid taking the line all the way to the inside corner.

The Cat Eye

Forget the advice you may have read in the past never to line the inside rims of eyes because it makes eyes look tiny. Sexy cat eyes are a cool look for night. The key to this look is to apply a thin line to the inside rims of the lids. Make sure to sharpen the pencil after lining. Holding the skin of your upper lid taut, dot liquid liner along the upper lash line as close to the eye as possible. Apply line from corner to corner of eye, extending the line upward at the outer corner of eye. Let liner dry for a few minutes before touching. To soften this look (black liquid liner can be harsh), InStyle Magazine suggests trying a smudge-able pencil in a lighter color like dark brown or charcoal. Hold down the lower lid and apply liner only to the outer three quarters of the rim. Fade out the line as you approach the tear duct, according to makeup artist Mally Roncal in the March 2006 edition of InStyle Magazine. Extend the liner upwards at the outer corners. For a softer version of this look, use an eye shadow brush and sweep a taupe or brown color on the lower lash line.

moncler sale or invisible eyeliner, which is most ... - Networked Politics

Since we are using a pencil eyeliner, tian blog the line can tend to be slightly thicker than we would see if using liquid or gel liners. If that is the look you are going for, wonderful. And if not, canada goose sale we can still use pencil liners to achieve the look you are going for. For a thinner line, use the pencil sideways so that moncler sale is essentially parallel to your lid. This forces you to use a lighter hand, and therefore you will get a lighter and thinner line. Another trick to get a thinner line is to draw the line halfway between your lid and your lash line. Since only half of the pencil will be hitting your skin, you’ll cheap mac makeup get a much thinner line. Of course, another option would be to smoke out mac makeup cheap or smudge the liner. In order to do this, apply the liner as messy as you want to the upper lid (and for a fully smokey look, the lower lash line and lower water line) then take a smudge brush, clean eyeliner brush, or even a cotton swab and blend out the harsh color and line of the liner you just applied. You can move it up on to your lid to wear it as a shadow or keep it close to the lash line. One of my favorite techniques is tightlining, moncler sale or invisible eyeliner, which is most easily and effectively done using cheap mac makeup pencil eyeliner (waterproof, preferably). We will be lining the upper portion of the inner lash line, starting in the center and moving out, then coming back to the center and moving in. To get to the area discount mac makeup, use the end of a brush or a clean finger to gently push your lid up, exposing the wet area. If you are trying it for the first time, it may tickle and your canada goose eyes may water a bit but both of cheap nike shoes those things dissipate with time. http://ebay.goose123.com/?p=184 http://ebay.goose123.com/?p=182 http://ebay.goose123.com/?p=180 http://ebay.goose123.com/?p=178 http://ebay.goose123.com/?p=176 http://ebay.goose123.com/?p=174

Urban Decay Ink for Eyes Cream Eyeliner [REVIEW/PHOTOS]

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil has been my eyeliner of choice for several months now; I love its smooth application, ability to blend and long-lasting wear. Since some Urban Decay products have been on sale for very discounted prices lately, I decided to give another Urban Decay eyeliner a try: Ink for Eyes. Ink for Eyes is a hybrid between a traditional pencil eyeliner and a liquid eyeliner. (I will admit I’ve never been that great at applying liquid eyeliner, so a gel seemed like a good alternative.)

I decided to go with Ink for Eyes in Demolition, a deep chocolate color, since I already have pencils in charcoal and black. The first thing I noticed and liked about Ink for Eyes is the slick packaging, which includes a mirror and a double-ended applicator with precision and smudgy ends.

The consistency of Ink for Eyes is that of a gel/cream eyeliner. The only other eyeliners of this type that I have tried in the past were Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner and Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner, neither of which impressed me. Fortunately, the smooth consistency of Ink for Eyes makes it extremely easy to apply an even line.

Here is a breakdown of my likes and dislikes of Urban Decay Ink for Eyes.

PROS

CONS

Natural and sheer look Not as long-lasting as some eyeliner pencils (UD 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil) or liquid eyeliners
Easy to apply May not be best for women with oily eyelids, tends to smudge a bit after a few hours of wear (using an eye shadow primer first should help – here is my favorite)
Useful case which includes mirror and double-ended applicator On the pricey side (regularly $22, but I scored mine on sale for $7)

Searching for the Ultimate: Pencil Eyeliner Edition

Looking, trying, testing, are all parts of the process when looking for the one.

The HG "X", once you find the one, you never look back, you never cheat on it, you tell others and rave whenever asked, and the search is all worth it.

For some, the one comes easily. For beauty bloggers, well, we seem to be pickier.

This will be the first edition to a status on my search for The Perfect Pencil Liner

Pencil liner was one of the first make up products I ever used. I used to line my lower waterline for YEARS. Never the top lash line or tight line but always the lower one

( I don't know when or how I started but that was "the look" I was faithful to for most of my make up youth)

I don't even remember what I used back then. I'm positive whatever I used the packaging changed because I no longer recognize it on drugstore shelves. I think Maybelline??

Moving on…

Since my "Maybelline" days, I have tried quite a *ahem* few pencil liners…yet I have still to find an HG…but the search continues

The reason why my search is taking so long:

My eyes are annoying. My top lid overlaps my lower lids when I blink. I need a very waterproof liner because every time I blink (which is often!) the liner rests on my skin, not on my lower lids.

Also my eye shape. The ends of my eyes on the top lid are longer than the lower (yes, I have had time to think about this) so the outer corners are always becoming racoony

If you experience the same issue: tight line the main and middle portion of your eyes and avoid the corners. You will never see those corner smudges again, but I am on the search for the ultimate liner, not the alternate routine!

*NOTE (My preferences/requirements)* I do not care if a black pencil is not the blackest black black out there, I just need it to be pretty black and stay on my waterlines for the whole day. I also do not like too smudgy liners, I want it to set and stay in place all day!

Liner's in my current collection:

Drugstore Liners

Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner: This is very black! This is very smooth, this also smudges within about 2 minutes on being on my eyes and is thus a fail for me.

Milani Liquefy Eyeliners: Super black, super smooth, super pigmented! Yet,the product attaches itself to my contacts and I go blind within 15 minutes. This is not the one.

Middle Range Liners

Sephora Waterproof KEEP Liners: These are actually not bad for the price. When applied to the middle parts of my lids they stay on most of the day but the corner smudges after about 4 hours so this is not the one, but very nice for the price

Sephora NANO liners: These come in nice colors but don't last on my waterline for past 3-4 hours when it begins to fade in patches

Higher end Liners:

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Liner: The black is not very black in my opinion. The sharpener is ok…I am not the biggest fan of retractable. This slightly tugs on my lids, and doesn't seem to last on my waterline for more than about 2 hours. This is not something I would repurchase.

Chanel Eye Khols: The colors are stunning, I only have 1 shade but it's not very smooth. It's very hard. This does not last long on my waterline for more than 2 hours and begins to smudge. Luckily this color is so gorgeous it starts smudging beautifully into a very nice shade. Too bad. Will not be the HG.

Lancôme Le Stylo Waterproof Liner: Also not very black, also retractable, also not very waterproof! One of the worst high end liners I ever tried. Smudges and not long lasting at all. A disappointment. Usually I love Lancome!

MAC Eye Khols: I love some of the shades, but these don't last long on my waterline. Fading begins about hour 4.

MAC Waterproof liners: Sorry smudge city! I don't care if they stick on "Waterproof "on the label.

Urban Decay 24/7 Liners: WOW, this smudges on me within about 2 minutes of application. Great colors, super smooth, nicely pigmented but ZERO staying power on me.

MUFE Aqua Liners: My current favorite but just not the one. These smudge on my lower outer corners. The rest of the eyes are fine but that damn outer corner! Nice selection of colors and quite pigmented. Not the most waterproof liner I ever tried, but definitely a good pencil.

Bare Minerals Big and Bright Eyeliner: Faded in about 45 seconds one of the worst I ever tried, period.

Clinique Eyeliner (retractable): Not too impressed, just ok, I forgot I even owned it, which states how much I liked it

Liners of my future:

So….the above list shows a list of liners I use but never am fully satisfied with.

Here are some of the liners I have been looking into to see if they can be the one for me!

YSL Eye Pencil

I have heard this is an excellent pencil! We shall see…. I recently have been using their new cream gel liner with great success!

Benefit Bad Gal:

Which I just purchased today. This received so many mixed reviews. I know I tried it last week and it was great on my top waterline I did not try the lower water line, we shall see...

(ack why is the picture blurry!!!)

So tell me ladies, do you continue searching for the ultimate? What is your HG liner or at least favorite if you have one!! Please share!

Madam Noire Makeup Studio: Tutorial: Leopard print eyes

Hello everybody! :)

The rain is pouring down here and it's a dull monday. So a pop of color is exactly what we need! :) The key to the leopard eyes look is to make not too many dots but not too few either. If you make too many it's going to look a bit messy but if you make too few it will look quite poor. What's too many or too few might be a question of taste though!

So let's get the tutorial started!
Step 1
Apply your base and prime your eyes. Line your upper and lower waterline with a black eyeliner pencil. Put a little amount of NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk on your lid. Smudge it out with your finger but don't take it into the crease!
Step 2
With a flat shader brush apply Chickadee by MakeupGeek over the lid and a bit above the crease. Blend it out with a fluffy brush.
Step 3
With a smaller sized blending brush or pencil brush, apply Latte by MakeupGeek in the crease and blend it into Chickadee.
Step 4
In the outer corner (deep crease) apply Cocoa bear by MakeupGeek and blend it out well. Also apply a matte white in the inner corner and right under your brow. I've used Gesso by M.A.C.
Step 5
A little more dimension is needed so let's open up our gaze a bit with a dab of Glamorous (by MakeupGeek) in the center of the lid.
Step 6
Fill in your brows with Latte (MakeupGeek).

Grab your black gel eyeliner and line your upper lash line! Since we're going leopard here, we want the eye to get a more catlike shape. Create a little "extension" in the inner corner of the eye and an extra long wing in the outer corner.

Step 7
Pop on some mascara.

Now, it's time for the dots! To create these I'm using a liquid eyeliner. Draw for dots similar to those on the picture. It doesn't have to be and exact copy!

Step 8
For more dots!
Step 9
Five smaller, filled dots evenly distributed between the larger dots.

Step 10
Fill in the dots with Mocha by MakeupGeek. This really makes all the difference!
Step 11
Put on a pair of falsies and the eyes are done. I'm using Ardell #105.

I like to pair this eye makeup with a nude lip just to give the eyes some extra focus. To get an extra sheer layer of lipstick I applied it with my finger. I've used Clinique Creamy nude and a concealer in the center of the lips to add some more dimension.

I hope you liked this tutorial. Have a nice day! :)
