It has become very clear that bright colors are the biggest trend for spring. This not only means bright, bold, and neon colors in your wardrobe and accessories, but also in makeup. The fall 2012 runways were chock full of models strutting down the runway with this chic, glowing eye makeup look. Makeup mastermind Francois Nars says that, “Vibrant jewel tones make the eyes appear brighter in a beautiful, modern way.” We have selected four particularly gorgeous colors to show you how to get this bold, but soon to be classic, makeup look.
Teal is a gorgeous color in itself and in terms of makeup shades, this eyeliner color will make your eyes pop. Stick with shades with more blue than green, the blue shade will bring out the irises of your eyes. You can make the color stand out even more by pairing teal eyeliner with pale eye shadow and lipstick. We like Nars’ Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Abbey Road.
Blue hues are probably one of the brightest colors you can go with for eyeliners. If a bright and blazing cobalt blue seems a bit daunting, try layering it over black or brown liner for a softer effect. We like NYX Extreme Shine Eyeliner in Sun-Rise Blue.
Green is a hue that is for those of you that will be risk-takers with this makeup trend. A smudged green line along the lashes is not only bright, but can be down-right ethereal if it’s left alone. For a more dramatic look, you can add a few coats of mascara, or pair it with a black or brown eyeliner for a more minimized look. We like Covergirl’s LiquiLineBlast Eyeliner Pencil in Green Glow.
Purple tones will be for those of you that want to try this trend, but don’t want that stand-out bright color of a blue or green. Purple is a universally flattering color. Of all the jewel tones, purple appears the least shocking. We like Nars Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Bourbon Street.
