littELLEbratontheloose: IN2IT waterproof eyeliner pen

↓↓ You can really skip this blabber ↓↓
Am I the most noob person when it comes to liquid eyeliners? One simple reason why I don't purchase them is because I don't know how to apply it. Those liquid liners that comes in bottles, like nail polish, I hate them so much. It was in the year 2010 that I discovered something great, yes, I'm talking about eyeliner pens! But I was convinced to work with gel liners for the rest of my life until I decided to buy this last Monday No, I'm not eyeing this product but there are just moments in my life that I just wanna spend in some random cosmetics I find at drugstores; and Monday was my lucky day! I found this! /evil laugh

Felt tip brush
with flash and without flash
A just did a little rub.

IN2IT says:
• Easy to apply and draw accurate eyelines.
     I couldn't agree more.
• Waterproof and long wearing.
It is waterproof in a sense if you won't rub it. Long wearing? Hmm, it smudged at my crease after 6 hours of wearing it.
• Smudge resistant
I beg to disagree with this! Even with just a tap, it smudges instantly.Smudge-free pencil liners are way better!
• Quick drying.
     Yes, it is!
• Easy to remove.

If rubbing won't hurt your eyes, yes, you can just remove this by rubbing.
• No need to sharpen.

With the felt tip brush, DUH. Why do you have to sharpen it?

◘ What I love:
- Pretty cheap compared to other eyeliner pens. This cost me P399.75

- It's a nice eyeliner pen. It works for me pretty well for me. I don't have issues with the creasing 'cause it can be removed with a wet tissue but it'll be a hassle for some(Checking your eyes from time to time and wiping off the smudge? Yeah, there's a lot of work going on).

- It's really really really really(Ok, you get it) easy to use!

- It finishes as MATTE black. Oh yeah, just like gel liners! I hate those glossy liners, geez, I just can't even.

◘ What I hate:

- Y U LIE TO ME? D: U NOT SMUDGE PROOF!

Overall:

♥♥♥ and a half ♥

Good pencil eyeliner for oily lids? » Sociedad and Epilepsy

Author: admin | Date: March 30, 2012 | Please Comment!

Ive used revlon colorstay pencil, elf cream liner and Mac smolder eye kohl. They all smudge and also ‘flake’ off my lids because they get progressivle moreoilyduring the day. I’m pretty bad at applying cream/gel/liquid liners, so does anyone know a drugstore pencil eyeliner that is long wearig, pigmented and NOT tested on animals? Also preferably coming indark brown but it’s okay if not. Ive heard good things about the wet n wild retractable eyeliner, ur thoughts?
Thank u :)

NYX Pencils, are only 6 bucks and you can get them at Ulta :)

The best product for you is a gel eyeliner. You do need a brush, but you can get a liner look, you can smudge it (b4 it sets) to get a smokey look and its great for the waterline too.It is waterproof, smudge proof and will withstand oily lids better than anyother liner.

You can get gel liner in a pencil form by Stila, but its not a drug store brand.

The best gel liner at a great price is Sonia Kashuk at Target. This one really impressed me! Up there with the Sephora professional brands.

Spring Forward – Smear Proof Eyeliner For Allergy Season ...

Hey Rosés,

Image via Getty

The Spring Forward Series provides tips and news for seasonal allergy sufferers to stay clear and beautiful during spring allergy season.

We already covered how to wear mascara and moisturize dry noses this allergy season, but what about wearing eye liner when your eyes are red, watery or itchy? Or eyeliner that won’t flake onto your contact lenses? Facial skin is most sensitive around the eyes, so during any allergy attack or illness I highly recommend NOT wearing any makeup on eyes. Potential bacteria could make your eyes worse or contaminate your makeup.

If you MUST wear eyeliner, here are some great tools to keep you sleek without smudging, running and won’t give the dreaded smeared raccoon eye:

Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof & Tearproof Eyeliner

Purchase: $18 ulta.com

This waterproof double-sided eyeliner includes a pencil on one end and a beveled smudger on the other end to intensify the look. It’s like a liquid liner in a pencil and won’t smear. The paraben free, mineral oil free, and paraffin free formula is perfect for sensitive skin, allergies and contact lens wearers.

Ingredients: Perfect Black, Perfect Brown, Perfect Peacock: Isododecane, Cyclopentasiloxane, PEG/PPG-19/19 Dimethicone, Synthetic Wax, Hydrogenated Polydicyclopentadiene, Nylon-12, C20-40 Alcohols, Perfluorononyl Dimethicone, Polyglyceryl-4 Diisostearate/Polyhydroxystearate/Sebacate, Polyethylene, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Tetra-di-t-butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Tocopherol, Mica. May Contain/Peut Contenir/(+/-): Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Chromium Oxide Greens (CI 77288).

L’Oreal Voluminous Eyeliner

Purchase: $8.49 drugstore.com

This is my go-to “liquid liner for dummies!” This angled pen glides on moist, then dries in 60 seconds giving you a sleek line all day without smearing, cracking or flaking. The dual angle pen lets you create a thin outline or thick sweep, perfect for achieving a winged or cat eye. Note: it does contain parabens.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua) (Eau), Acrylates Crosspolymer, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Lignosulfonate, Sodium Laureth 11 Carboxylate, Phenoxyethanol, Alcohol, Polysorbate 80, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Laureth 12 Sulfate, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, EDTA (Ethylenediamine-Tetra-Acetic Acid), May Contain (+/-): (CI 77266), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090) (CI 42090), Red 40 Lake (CI 16035) (CI 16035)

Smashbox Jet Set Eye Liner & Brush

Purchase: $22 sephora.com

Dip the included angled eyeliner brush into these pots for a creamy alternative to an eye liner pencil. Best for those who aren’t handy with a pencil and still want a sleek even look that won’t run. The waterproof formula will keep you smudge free even through those pollenated tears. Formula is paraben free.

Ingredients: Isododecane, Polyethylene, Cyclopentasiloxane, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Lecithin, Phenyl Trimethicone, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Barium Sulfate, Propylene Carbonate, Phenoxyethanol, [+/- Mica, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163), Carmine (CI 75470), Chromium Hydroxide Green (CI 77289), Chromium Oxide Greens (CI 77288), Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide (CI 77510), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Ultramarines (CI 77007)].

Dupe For Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil Zero: Prestige Total Intensity ...

That gorgeous blue-teal eyeliner is Bourjois Contour Clubbing Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner Blue Remix.

Would you give up a few strands of eyelashes – every single time – in exchange for a bold and black waterline?

I wouldn’t! Not even for the blackest of black waterline or lashine! And neither would anyone in the right mind, right?

I’ve stressed on the importance of tight lining in several posts – why you should tightline your eyes, tips on tightlining, and how to tightline your eyes. But as much as I love a nice, bold, black waterline, using an eyeliner that causes the demise of precious eyelashes is an intolerable trade-off. If I continued using the Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner, I’d probably be left with none now!

The Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner in Deepest Black is widely cheered upon as the best dupe for the legendary Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero.

My quest for a black eyeliner pencil has never ceased – I haven’t found any near my standard of perfection – so I made an order for the prestige when my Zeros became too short to sharpen.

I took such a long time to review this pencil (I showed it in this haul post) as I wanted to be 100% sure how I felt about it. And now, having put it to test for a few months, I’m READY! Rarrr!!!

Yes, You’re A Very Black Pencil Eyeliner

Admittedly, this Prestige Eyeliner is the blackest of black pencil eyeliners I’ve used. Just at how intense it is against the two Zeros!

The half Zero with the half Whiskey (from the Urban Decay Naked Palette) is slightly less black and more brown than the full Zero pencil. Maybe because it’s under the influence of some Whiskey (silly pun! HAHAHA! ).

Smudges Worse Than Zero

Precisely because of its intense pigmentation, the black smudge stains from Deepest Black tend to be much more black than Zero.

Prestige’s Deepest Black applies very smoothly and easily on the waterline, but the staying power? Meh~. Actually worse than meh. I only use this on my upper waterline; I have over-sensitive lower waterline that gets irritated easily with pencils. The L’Oreal HiP Chrome Eyeliners had me tearing my eyes out.

On my oily eyelids, the Prestige Total Intensity eyeliner doesn’t stay on at all. It transfers onto my lower lashline, and sometimes when I don’t get enough sleep my left eyelid becomes more hooded and it transfers to above the fold too.

ICK!!! My eye area looks grotesquely oily! This was taken at night, with flash on. Look at the smudged line on the undereye area. And I’d cleaned up a few times outside before reaching home to take this picture.

Transfered eyeliner onto the skin above the fold.

I always, always, always prime my eyelids with UDPP in Eden no matter how heavy or light my eye makeup is, but it seems to serve no purpose with the Prestige Eyeliner in Deepest Black since it still smudges. I’ve tried powder under it, over it, but still end up with a hot, black mess every time.

On top of not being smudgeproof, it is also not waterproof. You know the difference between smudgeproof and waterproof already, ya?

Creamy But Not Exactly Smooth

Many people love the creaminess of the Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner Pencil, and say that one does not have to tug at the eyelid to get the product on.

I beg to differ though. I think Urban Decay’s Zero goes on more smoothly even though it is less creamy. Deepest Black is creamy, yes, but it does not glide back and forth as effortlessly as Zero.

With the Prestige pencil, it is soooooo creamy that it makes controlling the amount of product I get on difficult. Like, I’ve got to be really careful not to apply too much pressure lest too much gets on and it transfers onto the waterline the second I blink.

I don’t know why, but the tendency to poke my eye with the Prestige pencil is higher. Yes, yes, I have my moments too. Lol.

So in order to control the amount I get on, I have to raise my eyelid to reveal the waterline – an action I discourage in this Tightlining tutorial. We don’t want to impose unnecessary stress on our eyes that will expedite premature aging!

Wears Down Very Fast

The Prestige Total Intensity pencil is so creamy and soft that the tip blunts on every application. To have to sharpen it after every use is not only troublesome, but when you think of how much and how often you have to shave product away to get a nice pointy tip, it actually does not come cheap at all. You may eventually end up going through more Prestige pencils and paying more than the Urban Decay Zero pencil.

The pencil is about half of its original length now.

I don’t like to have to sharpen eye pencils, especially one that needs to be constantly shaped, so this is a huge minus point for me. I feel like I’m shaving away money, maybe 20 cents for each twist between the sharpening blades. *heart pain

I can never get the Prestige Eyeliner on the inner section of the waterline, near the tear duct, because I’ll have to get a VERY pointed tip so that it doesn’t get on beyond the small area, and even if I do get a tip after shaving off half of the pencil, it will smudge immediately. Most definitely cannot count on the Prestige Deepest Black to create the inner corner shape of the Native American colors inspired eye makeup look.

Takes Time To Dry Completely

So I have to sharpen the pencil too many times, waste time to be careful during application and still suffer from a smudged eyeliner look… there can’t be anything worse, right?

When I didn’t know earlier on, I was so excited to get such an incredibly black eye line that requires only two layers. Sometimes maybe three because it’s quite hard to control its consistency.

Here comes the horrible truth: The eyeliner is so super creamy and wet it makes my lashes clump together, like a bad or expired mascara. It makes my lashes feel crisp and stupid.

The more layers I have on, the longer the time needed to dry completely. But I didn’t know and wondered why my lash roots were BALDING. Every time I curled my lashes with my beloved Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, out would come a couple of lashes.

The final straw came when one day I forgot to let the line dry, stuck my eyelashes between the curler, unknowingly let the lashes stick onto the curler and pulled the curler away after crimping, along with THREE strands of eyelashes. I swear I heard the uprooting of my eyelashes.

SPscchheeeeAaccKK!!! (HAHAHA! How to spell an uprooting sound??)

Nooooooo……!!!

Can you feel my pain???

I am not impressed with the Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner in Deepest Black, it is definitely not Holy Grail material for me, and will not recommend it to anyone who has oily lids like I do unless you fancy looking like a raccoon and have to constantly worry about whether people are looking into your eyes or wondering why there are unsightly dark rings under your eyes.

For people who are lucky to have normal-dry eyelids, you will find this eyeliner pencil absolutely smudge proof, that it does not budge from the waterline, will not transfer, and will last you for up to 12 hours. So tempting, right?? These were the positive feedback I read from reviews when I was contemplating whether to get it, and was sold that it worked for so many people. Apparently everyone has difference experiences with makeup products due to skin type, and all these fabulous plus points just didn’t apply to me.

If I had to choose, I still prefer Urban Decay’s Zero over Prestige’s Deepest Black.

Beauty Review: Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Eyeliner Pen

March 28, 2012 · 1 comment

in Beauty

I’m never without a good black eyeliner in my make-up box – that’s not exactly a revelation, I’m sure. I wear eyeliner every single day – whether pencil, liquid or gel – and it’s almost always jet. For my personal beauty aesthetic, I love the definition of a black eyeliner. In terms of make-up I like the very basic statements done up in a theatrical way. So having a black eyeliner pen has been a must, and over the last few months I was using a pen by a prestige brand that I was completely smitten with. But, as with all prestige brands, the price seemed a little overwhelming to divulge for a routine product I’d use nearly every day. Needless to say, when Maybelline’s Eye Studio released their Master Precise Eyeliner Pen I was keen to give it a try and see if it could be a budget-friendly replacement for my high-end favorite.

Here’s a peek at what it looks like…

I’m very impressed. For such a fraction of the prestige brand’s price, Maybelline did a fantastic job of creating an eyeliner pen that’s bold, easy to use and of wonderful quality. Going directly from one to the other I did feel that the Master Precise tip was a little more flexible than the prestige brand; a little too flexible, to a degree, but after a bit of use I grew accustomed to it and was able to cater my application technique to better suit the product (as I’m inclined to do with any make-up product, really; everything requires a different sort of finesse, don’t you think?).
And a closer look at the definition and precision…

In most cases with liquid eyeliner, applying the pen with short, small strokes gives a much better result than trying to achieve an effect with one swipe. With the prestige brand I most often used big strokes, and with Master Precise that just wasn’t an option. But that was a quirk of mine anyway that the pros will tell you isn’t a fantastic habit to get into. Short strokes may seem to take a bit longer, but the precision you get as a result is definitely worth it. I’ve only had the product for a few weeks so I’m curious to see how long it lasts before the pen starts to run dry. But regardless, I’d say Maybelline’s Master Precise is a marvelous success for drugstore beauty and at $7.99 it’s impossible to refrain from making it a new staple in my beauty box.

I’ve had several requests to show what’s in my makeup pouch but never really gotten round to it. A new camera lens makes for a good excuse to take pictures of everything. I also finally got a makeup pouch that is big enough to house the Urban Decay Naked Palette. The previous Gareth Pugh for MAC makeup pouch is still really great to pack in essentials for a weekend stay.

This new makeup pouch (also from MAC) is really spacious. My lips aren’t great looking so I hate accentuating them with lipsticks. I pick really nude colours so they don’t stand out much. As you can probably tell, I can’t live without eyeliners and i pack no less than in this makeup pouch.

The Urban Decay Makeup palette are really the only palettes I use right now. I much prefer the first one as the colours are a lot warmer but the packaging for the second one is great. The bigger mirror is definitely a godsend.

Whats in my makeup pouch:

  • Eyeshadows
    • Urban Decay: Naked Palette
    • Urban Decay: Naked 2 Palette
    • NARS: Outremer (Cobalt blue. probably the only bright colour I have)
  • Blusher:
    • Tarte: Dollface
    • Majolica Majorca: Blood on (a gel base stain, pretty natural looking)
    • Canmake: Cheek gradation in  02
  • Eyeliners:
    • Heavy Rotation: Perfect Liquid eyeliner (brush tip, my absolute favorite)
    • Heavy Rotation: Perfect eyeliner (pencil version, not as great though)
    • Dejavú: Perfect liner (felt tip, not too bad)
    • Dolly Wink: Brush tip eyeliner (comes a close second to Heavy Rotation)
    • TokiDoki: Perfetto Eyeliner (very dark pigments but felt tip felt rough on my eyelids)
    • Stila: Smudge stick waterproof eye liner (lies! it smudged on my lower line)
    • Sephora: Retractable waterproof eyeliner (Lies too!)
    • KIKO: automatic waterproof eyeliner (felt tip, not great)
  • Eyebrow pencils:
    • MAC: Spiked
    • MAC: Brunette
    • ZA: Ever Brows in GY70 (favorite brow pencil, cheap and good)
  • Mascara:
    • Lancome: Hypnosé Precious cells
    • Maybelline: Colossal Volume Express
    • Lash Specialist: Micro Long mascara (got this from Japan, really small brush for coating lower lashes)
    • Brow Lash EX: Lash serum (works as a base for eyelashes)
  • Foundation/Skin etc:
    • Kanebo: Freshel Moistlift BB cream (I really like this)
    • SK-II: Facial Treatment Cream Foundation (It’s expensive but I swear by this foundation, it’s my absolute favorite.)
    • SK-II: Loose power
    • Yves Saint Laurent: Touche Eclat in 02
    • Canmake: Cover & Stretch Concealer UV in 01
    • Canmake: Nose Shadow Powder (just bought this recently for shading noses, this girl does it likeaboss. )
  • Lipstick:
    • MAC: Myth (lol the only one I have in the pouch)

The Stepford Witch: Palladio Eye Liner Pencil

My first encounter with Palladio was when I tried their liquid eyeliner. If you've read that review, you'll know that I wasn't impressed. Still, one product won't stop me from trying others from the same brand.

Since their Eye Liner Pencil was on sale, I figured there wasn't much to lose. And so, I ended up with 4 shades - White, Midnight Blue, Black and Dark Brown.

The first time I used these pencils, I had to rub them against the back of my hand so that it would apply smooth. I also noticed that these were quite firm... I wish it were softer like Make Up For Ever's Aqua Eyes Liner. I prefer using softer ones on my eyelids because I don't want to add more damage by tugging on it.

Palladio's Eye Liner Pencils takes a few moments to set and it becomes smudge-resistant and are best used to line the water line - they stay on. On average, I still notice it on me after 3 hours. For a girl with really watery eyes, that's not bad at all!

left to right: Black, Dark Brown, White and Midnight Blue

So yeah, I actually like this product since most eyeliners don't stay put on my water line. It's something I like having around in my kit. And I think Palladio is starting to earn favor points from me since I tried another product which was okay and another which turned out to be a pleasant surprise. But that's for another time.

Has anyone else tried makeup from Palladio? What was it and did you like it?

Girly Girl Giveaways: Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencil Review

Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencil Review

I was given the opportunity to review celebrity makeup artist Sue Devitt's Eye Intensifier Pencil. The Eye Intensifier Pencil comes in 13 different shades and is water resistant. This eyeliner pencil has a velvety texture that glides on easily and smoothly. I am a big fan of black eye liner and I really love the way this pencil helps me create the perfect lined eye. The opposite end of the pencil is an applicator tip that is suppose to help you get that smoky eye look by blending the liner. Maybe I am just bad at applying makeup because I had a hard time using the applicator to blend the eyeliner. It would just rub off kinda like an eraser. I love the pencil and how simple it is to create that perfect lined eye that doesn't crease or wear off, but I have been ignoring the applicator tip. Maybe I should have our resident makeup artist Loli test it out for me! This eyeliner pencil also contains anti-aging ingredients that help lock in moisture and is gentle on the delicate skin around your eyes.

You can purchase this Eye Intensifier Pencil ($22) and other Sue Devitt cosmeticsonline and in select stores. Check out theirstore locatorto find one near you.
