The Eyes Have It | Cheer Makeup Blog

Summer is right around the corner and we will all be finding that perfect pair of sunglasses.  When you take them off, the eyes have it!

If you are attending an outdoor event or  picnic this summer, a light touch of pastel shadow is feasible in hotter temperatures. Opt for an eye shadow that complements your nails, dress color or your pretty little shoes.

Smudge and sweat-proof yourself; invest in some waterproof mascara. Black eyeliner is always fine, but if you fancy yourself ahead of the trend curve, white eyeliner as a highlight is making a distinct comeback. Sport a mod 60s look during the day and dark eyeliners for evening or for your next cheer competition.

Neon, shimmery eyeshadow shades applied up toward the eyebrow is always a showstopper, but the incredibly sexy, dark smoky eye tops the summer’s top trend list this year.

What’s more, it has never been so easy to learn the makeup tricks the pros use.

Step 1: Choose a power, matted brown, charcoal, purple or midnight blue colour and brush it on your eyelid. Don’t be shy; heavily apply. Remember, this is a dramatic look.

Step 2: With a black eyeliner pencil, coat both lower inner lash lines. Blunt the pencil with a tissue if it is too sharp.

Step 3: Starting at the middle of your lower lash, draw a thin line, gradually thickening the line as you near the corner of your eye with that same eyeliner pencil. Now rim your upper lash lines, making the line thicker as you near the outer eye. Extend the line out slightly past the lash line in a quick, sweeping motion.

Step 4: Blend another comparable shade of dark eye shadow cream over the top of the powdered shadow. The previously applied powder eye shadow prevents the cream shadow from creeping into the crease, acting much like a primer. This base also ensures the eyeliner doesn’t easily rub off.

Step 5: Add several coats of black mascara, paying special attention to drench the eyelash tips.

Hot to go!
