It is difficult not to rave about the Milani Liquif’eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil, as an eyeliner it outperforms all the pencil eyeliners in my makeup collection and let me say I own quite a few, ranging from high end to low end brands. This is by no means an expensive liner just a little hard to get one’s hands on if living in Australia or somewhere outside the US, but not to worry being the online shopaholic that I am I eventually got my hands on it after hearing the splendid reviews about this product all across the online beauty community. Purchase here at Cherryculture.com for only $7.99!
THE PRODUCT REVIEW:
I must admit I was a little sceptical at first as this pencil which retails for only $7.99 USD is advertised as “an extremely smooth pencil with the application and feel of a liquid liner that delivers true colour payoff in a metallic finish with a long-lasting wear.” The best part is it actually delivers. The product in the form of a traditional eyeliner pencil looks like any other drugstore buy, but WOW does it blow your mind on application. The texture of the product is buttery smooth, almost too creamy- so a guarantee for those who have sensitive lids this eyeliner will not tug at your skin on application. The fact that the product is so soft it melts straight onto eyelids- I’m almost afraid of wastage, as the pencil like other similar products has a net weight of only 0.04oz/1.2g.The pigmentation is unbelievable; however, I must confirm the colour achieved is not as dark as that of liquid liners, but more similar to cream or gel liner. This eyeliner sticks like glue on your lids –with little if any smudging by the end of the day, therefore to get rid of it, makeup remover is a must!
My only gripe about this product is that it only comes in five colours: black, brown, gold, silver and aqua – Why not more Milani? The black and brown shades are not metallic as the name suggests, but are matte in texture- even better, as I for one do prefer a flatter texture for these shades. Gold and silver on the other hand reflect a beautiful metallic sheen.
APPLICATION:
Once applied and left to set for 10 seconds, this product will not budge on the eyelid. It can be used for the waterline and will remain there for the entire day. Smudging out the eyeliner into your eye shadow will provide a beautiful smoky eye, whilst simple definition can be achieved by a perfect line, wing out for a bit of a cat eye effect!
RECCOMENDATION:
9.5/10- Strongly recommended for those with oily lids, or whose eye makeup slip and slide all day long- like me! One great tip is to invest in some eye shadow base or primer this helps the product to adhere even better to the lids and reduce chances of possible smudging- as the price point is so low you can afford to invest in a base. I have ordered my backups of this product already and cannot wait for all you BWA sweethearts to try it out as well!
